  • In general, herbs and spices do not expire in the traditional sense, but they do gradually lose potency over time. Proper storage plays a key role in preserving their freshness. When kept in airtight containers and stored in a cool, dark, dry place, whole herbs can typically last 3 to 4 years, while ground herbs usually maintain their quality for about 1 to 2 years.
